Advent 2018 #13: Ask and you shall receive

Due to the fact that there’s currently a storm outside, I’ll keep this post brief.

Yesterday I concluded with the suggestion that Christmas is the time to think about your opinion of Jesus. But where do you start?

Prayer: just start by asking. That’s always the best place to start.

In An Australian Prayer Book the second Sunday of Advent has just the right thing to say. I’ll leave it with you to end this short post:

Let us pray that nothing may hinder us from receiving Christ with joy.

God of power and mercy, open our hearts in welcome.

Remove the things that hinder us from receiving Christ with joy, so that we may share his wisdom and become one with him when he comes in glory, for he lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever. Amen.

Yours in prayer,

Alison
