#226 Side-Side Hustle

For anyone who has spent any time reading this blog, my love for Christmas is clear. In many of my Advent posts you’ll also find clear messages that I love sewing.

For some time now, I’ve been planning to start a side hustle. Having read the above paragraph you can probably gather that it’s got something to do with sewing (correct) and Christmas (correct again).

The business name is registered and ready: soon to be revealed 😉 And the first few products are Christmas items I have sewn and they are also ready to go.

Launch date: imminent. But it’ll be a bit more of a (very) slow trickle to begin with instead. This is why I’m calling it a side-side hustle currently. I’m about to go down into the bunker for HSC Marking for a few weeks, which feels like the side hustle getting in the way of the side-side hustle.

I’m really excited about my side-side hustle. I just wish it wasn’t so much on the side. But God is like that sometimes. Not on the side, but moving things more slowly than we might like. Or telling us to keep our focus on something else instead. We want to do A but he asks for B instead.

I don’t have to understand it. I might not even like it. I just have to maintain a faithful heart. And that is not easy. No one ever said it was.

But maybe after I come out of the ‘bunker’ things will ease up and I can do a bit more sewing and add a few more products to the range. I might even have them ready before Christmas.

At any rate, hopefully some of the saleable items will hit this website before too long, God willing. And hopefully it won’t be too long before the side-side hustle can move a little closer to centre stage.

God willing. Watch this space.

Yours with a sewing machine,

Alison
