#231 One minute read time

There is a part of me that really likes the fact that one of the biggest days on the calendar each year is on the Christian calendar. As far as Australian society has moved, and continues to move away from Christianity, we still make a big thing about Christmas.

Even if Jesus has nothing to do with many people’s celebrations.

Then after Christmas has come and gone and you are stuffed full with more food than you’ve seen all year – or so it seems – you get to the point of thinking ‘Now what?’

My advice to myself is that same as what I’ve said throughout December.

Just do what you can today.

Don’t overwhelm yourself.

A little bit done well today is better than biting off more than you can chew tomorrow.

At this time of year there’s actually a bunch of things I want to get done right now:

Reflect on the year so I can plan for the next.

Get all the ‘work-work’ done so I don’t have to worry about it later.

Watch the cricket. Read some books. Declutter and throw out the junk. Tidy the garage.

Then go shopping in the Boxing Day sales and get more junk for cheaper than usual.

Just do what you can today.

Don’t overwhelm yourself.

A little bit done well today is better than biting off more than you can chew tomorrow.

Even God took a Sabbath.

Yours finding the TV remote,

Alison
