I wasn’t expecting to get covid in the lead up to Christmas, but I did. Outside carolling on Saturday afternoon I was shaking with cold, or so I thought.
Nope, shaking with covid, rather.
I guess that made me stop a little earlier than I was intending. Sure, I still had to send a flurry of emails over the weekend, and on Monday when I was apparently having a ‘sick day’. Still, I disconnected earlier than was originally planned.
And despite the fever, the sneezing (I love how I sneezed just after I wrote that), the sore throat, and flu pain… I’m OK with stopping early.
December just gets too busy. There’s no time to stop and reflect on what it’s all about.
Our world didn’t make room for Jesus when he first arrived.
It’s making even less room for him now.
That doesn’t mean we have to do the same.
Covid or no covid, we can stop and take the time to reflect.
Yours with covid again,
Alison
